Dobson
Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

February 16, 2024 -- Attention: victims of the Dobson data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Dobson data breach.

Around February 27, 2023, Dobson identified unusual activities in its email system. The company initiated an investigation to understand the extent and nature of these activities. The inquiry revealed unauthorized access to certain employee email accounts from November 19, 2022, to March 3, 2023, raising concerns that the information within these accounts might have been compromised.

To address this, Dobson conducted an examination of the affected email accounts to ascertain if any sensitive data was involved and the individuals it pertained to. By December 12, 2023, this assessment was completed, revealing that specific personal information could have been affected by the breach.

In response, Dobson has been working to confirm the details of the compromised information and to obtain current addresses for notifying those potentially impacted. In the wake of this incident, the company claims it acted swiftly to both investigate the breach and enhance the security of its systems, including implementing additional protective measures and identifying individuals who might be at risk.

Furthermore, Dobson has informed relevant federal agencies about the breach. The company is also in the process of sending formal notifications to the necessary state and federal regulators and to the major credit reporting agencies - Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion - to ensure comprehensive awareness and response to the incident.

As a result of the data breach, Dobson is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 6,100 individuals were affected by the Dobson data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, and/or state identification numbers.
