Crossroads Equipment Lease & Finance
Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

February 24, 2024 -- Attention: victims of the Crossroads Equipment data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Crossroads Equipment data breach.

On April 2, 2023, Crossroads Equipment Lease & Finance discovered its computer systems had fallen victim to a ransomware attack, which encrypted the systems and barred access to numerous digital files. This disruption severely affected Crossroads Equipment's operations, including the processing of ACH payments and other critical business activities. It wasn't until January 25, 2024, that Crossroads Equipment fully understood the extent and nature of the potentially compromised personal information.

By April 3, 2023, Crossroads Equipment regained control over its systems, initiated the transfer of data to a cloud server with superior security features, and enhanced its technical and organizational safeguards.

Two days later, on April 5, 2023, the Federal Bureau of Investigation was alerted about the incident. Following an exhaustive investigation, Crossroads Equipment claims it has now implemented advanced security measures to prevent such incidents in the future. These measures include the adoption of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for system access, the introduction of more stringent access controls, the establishment of redundant data backups, and ongoing surveillance to deter future breaches.

As a result of the data breach, Crossroads Equipment is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 24,100 individuals were affected by the Crossroads Equipment data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: Names, Dates of birth, Social Security numbers, Mailing addresses, Email addresses, 1099 Forms, Driver’s license number, Passport number, or other state or government IDs, Vehicle Identification Number and/or License Plate Number, Tax documents, Credit and/or Debit card numbers, Bankruptcy filings, Financial data, Credit data, Loan applications, Medical data, and Digital signatures.
