October 18, 2022, Attention: victims of the CommonSpirit data breach.

On or about October 7, 2022, NBC News first reported that CommonSpirit appeared to have been the recent victim of a targeted data breach and ransomware attack. As one of the 5 largest health care organizations in the United States, CommonSpirit's patients experienced delays and reschedules as a result of the data incident. At this time, CommonSpirit has provided scant details regarding the data breach.

CommonSpirit maintains locations in: Arizona (Dignity Health facilities); Arkansas (CHI St. Vincent); California (Dignity Health facilities); Colorado (Centura Health); Dignity Health facilities in; Georgia (CHI Memorial); Iowa (CHI Health); Kansas (St. Catherine Hospital); Kentucky (CHI St. Joseph Health); Minnesota (CHI St. Gabriel’s Health, CHI LakeWood Health, CHI St. Francis Health, CHI St. Joseph’s Health); Nebraska (CHI Health, CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center); Nevada (Dignity Health facilities); New Mexico (CHI St. Joseph's Children – Albuquerque); North Dakota (CHI St. Alexius Health); Ohio (Trinity Health); Oregon (CHI St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton, CHI Mercy Health, Roseburg); Pennsylvania (CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health); Tennessee (CHI Memorial); Texas (CHI St. Joseph Health, CHI Baylor St. Luke’s, CHI St. Luke’s Health Houston); Washington (Virginia Mason Franciscan Health); West Virginia (Trinity Home Health); Wisconsin (CHI Living Communities).

At this time, an UNKNOWN number of patients were affected by the CommonSpirit data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: UNKNOWN. At this time CommonSpirit is conducting a forensics investigation to determine what patient data was accessed during the data breach. Healthcare data breaches often include patient names, contact information, medical diagnosis information, medical treatment information, payment information, insurance information, etc.
