October 23, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Chartis data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Chartis data breach.

On July 30, 2023, Chartis detected unusual activity on its computer network. The company immediately secured the network and initiated an investigation, enlisting the help of external computer forensics experts to ascertain the incident's full extent and nature. The investigation revealed unauthorized access to the network from July 16, 2023, to July 30, 2023. During this period, the unauthorized individual had the capability to see or obtain specific information stored on the network. Consequently, Chartis conducted an exhaustive review of the compromised data to evaluate its sensitivity and identify the affected parties. On September 8, 2023, the company informed all affected data owners about the data breach.

As a result of the data breach, Chartis is offering 2 years of free credit monitoring services to affected individuals.

A currently UNKNOWN number of individuals were affected by the Chartis data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, date of birth, address, Social Security number, driver’s license number, medical record number, medical diagnosis, treatment data, procedure type, procedure date, medical imaging, lab results, medications, admission date, discharge date, and length of stay.
