Data Breach Class Action

August 15, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the CentroMed data breach.

On June 12, 2023, CentroMed received a warning regarding possible unauthorized entry into its Information Technology (IT) network. Responding swiftly to this alert, CentroMed initiated an in-depth investigation. This inquiry revealed that on June 9, 2023, an unauthorized individual or entity gained access to certain systems within CentroMed's network. During this intrusion, the unauthorized party was able to access files holding information related to current and former patients of CentroMed, as well as its employees, and the spouses, partners, or dependents of employees and providers. Following their investigation, CentroMed has been unable to definitively confirm or deny the possibility that personal information contained in these files may have been accessed without authorization as a consequence of this incident.

Approximately 350,000 individuals were affected by the CentroMed data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, health insurance plan member ID, financial account data, medical records number, date of birth, Social Security number, claims information (including diagnoses data), and address.

CentroMed operates an extensive network, comprising 23 clinic locations, that is dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare. This includes Pediatrics, Women's Health, Family Practice, and Walk-In services, which allow for same-day appointments. In addition to medical care, CentroMed features a full-service Pharmacy Department, designed to conveniently fill prescriptions for its established patients. The organization also extends dental care services to both children and their families, offering comprehensive dental exams, which encompass x-rays and oral examinations, as well as preventive measures such as cleanings, sealants, and fillings. Furthermore, CentroMed has established a Behavioral Health Department, where professional therapeutic counseling services are available to both individuals and families in need. Moreover, CentroMed administers WIC services, aimed at supporting pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up to five years old.
