September 6, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists data breach.

On March 5, 2023, it came to the attention of Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists (referred to hereafter as "BOS") that their computer systems had suffered a cyber intrusion. In response, BOS immediately initiated measures to fortify their systems and commenced a detailed inquiry into the depth and extent of the breach. The findings from this inquiry revealed that unauthorized entities had gained access to specific systems within the BOS infrastructure from February 3, 2023, to March 5, 2023. Consequently, certain data housed within BOS's systems was compromised on March 4, 2023. Following the incident, BOS engaged in an exhaustive analysis of the affected data to ascertain the precise nature of the compromised information. By July 31, 2023, it was discerned by BOS that the compromised files contained both protected health data and personal details. Furthermore, the incident was promptly reported to federal law enforcement agencies by BOS. To bolster their cybersecurity, BOS is currently in the process of integrating enhanced technical protective measures to supplement their existing security protocols.

Approximately 242,000 individuals were affected by the Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, Social Security number, driver’s license number, financial account data, health insurance data, medical data, username and password.
