Data Breach Class Action
October 3, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Arpin International data breach.
Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Arpin International data breach.
In April 2023, Arpin International became a target of a complex ransomware attack. Upon discovery, the company mobilized its IT team and engaged third-party forensic specialists to investigate the data breach. Arpin International also reported the incident to federal law enforcement agencies. Preliminary findings indicated unauthorized access to files containing Arpin International employee data. The company alerted potentially affected employees on June 5, 2023, and continued its investigation and review of the potentially accessed data. Additional findings revealed that the cyberattack also impacted data used for providing moving and relocation services to individuals, corporate clients, and government agencies. Arpin International subsequently undertook a review of the affected data, identifying and notifying potentially impacted individuals. In response to the cybersecurity incident, Arpin International claims it has fortified its computer network by implementing enhanced security measures and is reviewing and augmenting its existing policies and procedures related to data security to safeguard against future cyber threats.
As a result of the data breach, Arpin International is offering 12 months of free online credit and identity monitoring services to affected individuals.
Approximately 4,200 individuals were affected by the Arpin International data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: first and last name, Social Security number, date of birth, driver's license number and/or passport number.
