October 2, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Arietis Health data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Arietis Health data breach.

On May 31, 2023, Progress Software informed Arietis Health of a critical vulnerability in their MOVEit file transfer software. Arietis Health then secured and patched their server. After an investigation by independent cybersecurity experts, it was discovered on July 26, 2023, that unauthorized individuals accessed the server on May 31 and might have obtained patient data.

As a result of the data breach, Arietis Health is offering 12/24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

More than 1.9 million individuals were affected by the Arietis Health data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, Social Security number, driver’s license number, government-issued ID number (e.g. passport, state ID card), medical data, and health insurance data.

Arietis Health is a revenue cycle management company that provides healthcare billing services for healthcare organizations.
