Data Breach Class Action

September 5, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Acadia Health data breach.

Acadia Health, LLC, also known as Just Kids Dental or JKD, recently sent notifications of a data breach to its patients and staff. On August 2, 2023, an unauthorized individual targeted the computer systems and network of JKD. The intruder deployed software to encrypt JKD's networks and specific files, encompassing those containing information about patients and employees. The data breach came to JKD's attention on August 8, 2023. According to JKD, the data breach did not result in the acquisition of any patient banking or credit card data. Upon uncovering the data breach, JKD claims it promptly initiated measures to examine the breach and ensured the security and restoration of its computer systems and operations. JKD has also stated that it hired a third-party cybersecurity specialist to ascertain the details and extent of the breach and to support the remedial processes.

Approximately 129,000 individuals were affected by the Acadia Health data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, Social Security number, driver’s license number, address, phone number, email address, birth date, health insurance policy data, treatment data and other health data.
