Data Breach Class Action Investigation


Attention: American Medical Technologies Patients

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the confirmed data breach of American Medical Technologies (“AMT”). On approximately December 17, 2019 AMT learned of unauthorized activity within the email account of an AMT employee. After a data breach investigation, AMT determined that patient information of approximately 47,767 individuals may have been accessible by the hacker during the data breach.

AMT determined that affected patient information may have included: names, Social Security numbers, diagnosis information, medical history information, medical record numbers, HIPAA account information, health insurance policy or individual subscriber numbers, taxpayer ID numbers, driver’s license numbers, and/or state identification numbers.

The information involved in this data breach can be used to perpetrate many types of fraud and identity theft, and the danger to affected individuals cannot be overstated.
