LabCorp Data Security Incident

LabCorp Data Security Incident Class Action Investigation

Abington Cole + Ellery is currently conducting a class action investigation regarding a confirmed data security incident affecting personal information entrusted to LabCorp.

LabCorp notified the US Securities and Exchange Commission on June 4, 2019, that it had been informed by American Medical Collection Agency (AMCA), a billing collections service provider, about unauthorized activity on AMCA’s web payment page that occurred between August 1, 2018, and March 30, 2019.

AMCA’s affected system included information regarding approximately 7.7 million LabCorp patients. It is believed information that was part of the incident includes: first and last name, date of birth, address, phone, date of service, provider, and balance information. AMCA’s affected system also included credit card or bank account information that was provided by the consumer to AMCA (for those who sought to pay their balance).
